This idea came to me in a dream.

It was the biggest project at the end of the semester, so naturally I’m exhausted and stressed about it. Our professor asked for “provocative” concepts and ideas and I just let it run in the background of my brain. One day, I decided to go to bed because I was all burnt out and the idea of a “cult” appeared in my dream. I woke up and texted my partner about it, because in the dream our professor loved it when we pitched it to him. It happened in real life too - so guess I’m psychic?

First I worked on our secret society logo. Then, we went to our classmate’s basement for the photoshoot. I made the key visual (i.e. the poster), the subway ad and mockups, the invite, the event imagery, and the social post.

First, securing a photographer. We were supposed to be partnered up with a student from the photography class for this project, but they ran out of photographers. Our professor gave us 2 options - either split up and join other groups, or take our own photos. Neither of us wanted to be put into random groups, so we took the latter. Our classmate JM then stepped up to the rescue and we had so much fun together.

Second, the golden pot. Amazon lied to me and said it would arrive before our photoshoot. The pots are very essential to our shoot, so my partner and I were panicking and went to Chinese supermarkets looking at pots that we can maybe photoshop later into the gold ones. The pots arrived after I left but fortunately before I paid for the new pots. Luckily, my roommates had nothing better to do and they delivered them to me from East York to Scarborough.

It was kind of a smooth sail thereon after.
